Produced in the 1950s, "Stop Fires Save Jobs" was produced by Audio Productions, Inc., NY, NY for American insurance companies as part of an educational program in co-ordination with National Fire Prevention Week. The film was widely screened at corporations and civic clubs across the country in the 1950s and shown as part of Civil Defense preparedness training. The film introduces the common causes of industrial fires and how to prevent them, the concept of flashpoint, classes of fires, and fire extinguishers, handling flammable materials, evacuation, and first aid. Some of the vintage technology seen in the film include fire engines, alarm boxes and communications gear, and extinguishers.
